DRAWINGS & PAINTINGS
Since moving back to London, I've been inspired to pick up pencil and paper and get back into drawing (following a long detour into digital media). The inspiration has mostly come from what's around me - the buildings, the parks and sculptures, details that I think we can become desensitised to when we're exposed to them on a daily basis. London provides no shortage of subject matter. I manage to push out the odd figurative picture as well.
In Brighton.
I had to do this from a photo as the alternative would have been standing on a traffic island in a busy road for two hours.
At Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood.
Waiting to pounce on visitors as they enter the Natural History Museum.
The replacement for the sadly departed brontosaurus in the Natural History Museum's entrance hall. (Still, at least there's more floor space now.)
London seen from one side of Tate Modern's new tower. I might have a go at the views from the other sides once I've recovered from drawing this one.
