...or at least that was the idea. In practice, he's turned out looking a tad more avian than I would have liked, thanks to the head-fin turning out a little too crest-like and the mouth being rather suggestive of a beak. It's funny how a picture or a model can drift away from the original design if one isn't too careful, although I'm now tempted to give him some pretty wings and call it job done.


I'm also currently trying to pose my angel character, but am hitting a wall; every time I try to render the figure with his impressive "dragon-slaying" pose, the pose disappears and is replaced with the generic "t" pose (only tilted at an odd angle and floating in mid-air). This may be a bug in Blender 5.1, but I've learned through bitter experience that the best practice is not to spend hours scouring the internet for fixes for these problems, but instead to power through, find some other solution, or turn to a different project until a solution presents itself. As a result of adopting this policy I get more pictures finished and preserve my sanity.
