Piece of the V & A

Writer's picture: Simon FaiersSimon Faiers

It's the summer break, and I'm hoping to get plenty of pictures done over the next few weeks. The weather has been blisteringly hot so far this year, which is great for outside drawing. I'm planning a return visit to Paris later in the month, which should be interesting as I hear France is even hotter than the UK. (I'm thinking that staying inside the museums and galleries might be the best strategy.)

Above is another one of my pencil drawings to get the trace-on-to-watercolour-paper-and-colour-in treatment. I'm not so happy with this one as the colours are pretty grubby, but until the V&A gets repainted in prettier colours there's not a lot one can do about it. (Unless I go down the Philip Dunn route and reinterpret everything in superbright colours.)
